Chajmaic greenhouse participant Joel Cu Coc took Ricardo to see available land

The team returned in August 2022 to ensure that the crops are growing well and to deliver additional seeds and seedlings for continued cultivation. Ricardo explored available land to buy with Joel Cu Coc, one of the participants in the greenhouse pilot project in Chajmaic.  The intention is to have a home base in the area to house the team as well as emergency housing.  We plan to purchase a 20 meter x 40 meter plot of land and build a dwelling so as to have a home base in the area that includes housing the team as well as emergency housing for the village’s most vulnerable, during hurricanes and flooding.

We have engaged Habitat for Humanity Guatemala and they have agreed to work with us if they can set foot on the land.

The cost of the land, which is in a central location, on high, flat ground, away from the river, is $13,000.  We have a capital campaign to raise these funds.
