We at Sowing Opportunities are bursting with excitement at the successes of the week ending February 15!
Our project manager, Ricardo San José Roca, visited the Boston, Massachusetts area from Antigua, Guatemala for just five days, but for what was achieved, it felt like much more.
During this visit, Ricardo met with Board members and volunteers, as well as donors. He gave presentations at two houses of worship – speaking informally at the Oneg Shabbat of Temple Israel of Boston:
And, presenting at the Adult Education Forum:
and, during the religious service:
and during Coffee Hour at Harvard-Epworth United Methodist Church in Cambridge.
People told us that Ricardo speaking made the work much more “real” for them and they were deeply touched, both by his presentation in what is not his native language, and by his authenticity as a person, and his obvious dedication to and passion for the work.
We are very excited about the possibilities for the future in both our work in four villages and six schools in 2026 – with 25 additional schools on a waitlist! – and also for our connections with our new and existing relationships.
Thank you to all of those who made this possible and those who attended! We are most grateful.
Ricardo and the team return to the region of Northeast Alta Verapaz on March 8.
