To the credit of both the teachers and Sowing Opportunities’ team, girls are given equal learning opportunities, and their interest and accomplishments are applauded!
It’s well known that students experience excitement in the classroom as they learn this new technique.
But what’s surprising is that at the same time they learn and familiarize themselves with a different way of planting, they also create a space for women to be part of this change.
In a world that is inherently sexist, girls and women are now also part of the change, and they embrace it with the same excitement, helping to set up and create the greenhouse beds, working just like the boys and men.
What’s more, they are part of the entire planting and harvesting process, as this is an innovative technique that is much simpler than the ancestral technique of planting in the ground.
This is a task they are already performing with a facility that surpasses the normal way of obtaining food.
That’s why Sowing Opportunities is evolving in the sector, now also in the hands of new and future food growers in the region, and why not, one day, throughout the country.
