We have very exciting plans for 2026! Our team is preparing to work with a second public primary school in the region of Eastern Alta Verapaz, which is extremely remote and where there are extremely few resources. This is a catchment area school for all the villages in the municipality – for 350 families!

Fray Bartolomé de las Casas School
Our dedicated Guatemalan team will teach the students to set up eight greenhouse beds. And our social worker will meet with the school principal to identify the 40 neediest families and help those families to set up their own greenhouses at their homes, in their villages. This will improve their food security, leadership development, and income. The team will meet with the village leadership, the COCODE, of each village, to gain their buy in.
This means that, while in 2025, we are working with five groups in three villages, including a public primary school, in 2026, we will continue to work with those five, plus the second school and 40 additional families, a total of 46 groups!

The capability for the students to learn a trade – agriculture – which will provide the means for their families to have a sustainable food source and a livelihood – is immeasurable.
Please join us in this exciting effort as we continue to collaborate with the people in the villages in the Northeast region of remote, indigenous Guatemala!
