Nearly three years ago, Sowing Opportunities started the greenhouse project in the region of Eastern Alta Verapaz, Guatemala where there are few resources.
When we began aiding the village of Chajmaic, Guatemala in 2017, we met with the municipal mayor and in 2018 Chajmaic received a water pump system. We delivered groceries during the pandemic during 2020 and 2021.
When we began the greenhouse project in Chajmaic in March 2022, little did we know that we would be providing resources for three villages to have sufficient nutritious food, to develop their leadership skills, and to have a burgeoning economy.
Our small, but mighty team of three – project manager, agricultural engineer, and social worker – have helped to assure that the villages of Chajmaic, Salaguna, and Sisbilhá have everything needed to develop sustainable agriculture, and their leadership to learn essential skills to carry them on for life, and to teach to their children.
We look forward to our path in the future, which is only possible with your help. Thank you for your generous donations, which have allowed us to reach this point and beyond. You can make your donation at this link:
